Scripture reference: 1 John 2:15-17

John teaches us about 3 things that are from the world:

  1. The desires of the flesh (internal cravings)
  2. The desires of the eyes (false values), and
  3. Pride in possessions (boastful self-sufficiency).

And he gives us 2 reasons not to love the world:

  1. Love for God and love for the world are incompatible, and
  2. The world is passing away.
