Scripture references: Haggai 1 and Haggai 2

After some of the Jews in Babylon returned to Jerusalem, they began to rebuild the Temple that had been destroyed many years earlier. However, disrupted and discouraged by attacks from their enemies, they stopped building having only laid the foundation.

After about 16 years, God spoke through the prophet Haggai to the remnant of the Israelites. Haggai brought them 4 messages from God:

  1. Rebuild My house.
  2. Be strong and work.
  3. Consider and purify yourselves.
  4. You are chosen.
